Review:
Bungle delivers a couple of deep, atmospheric cuts here which will no doubt go down a treat with fans of the more minimal and experimental end of the spectrum. Getting things started is title track "Aura", with its humming bassline, cautious ticking beats and hollow clip clop tones. Eerie and rather unnerving, this one is super stripped back, with a rising instrumental mid way breakdown adding a dash of interest. "Astral Travel", ups the ante a little with spaced out SFX, a more upbeat atmosphere and tripping beats which set the pace and tone for the piece. A quirky release here but well worth a listen.

Review:
Marcus Intalex can always be relied upon to serve up the most sumptuous and stylish of releases on his Soul:R label and this one from the man like DRS is no exception. Teaming up with hot new Russian talent Enei, who has impressed with his releases on Critical, including the Stonehead EP last year, the title track "Count To Ten" displays both artists' talent at its best. Dominated by a deep, rolling bassline and ticking breaks, there's an uneasy sense of tension throughout and aggressive spoken word lyrics. "Holding On" brings in a trio of talent in the form of Lenzman, Jehst and Riya for a more uplifting cut with clinking piano keys, warm instrumentals and swooning vocals.

Review:
A wonderfully tongue-in-cheek release here, I Don't Usually Like MCs but... runs rings around traditional attitudes in the D&B scene, presenting the debut album from (MC and vocalist) DRS. Across the 14-track album, he brings in a slew of top notch DJs to produce the tracks including Dub Phizix, Enei, Calibre, Lenzman, SPY and label boss Marcus Intalex. From opener "Soul Remembers" with its sonorous lyrics and deep yearning tones, through the aggressive questioning of "Do What? (feat. Genotype)" and the lush, lucidity of "Keep The Faith (feat. Calibre)" right through to the poignant beauty of "Raindrops (feat. Lenzman and Pete Simpson)" which closes the album, a variety of styles are touched upon. This is a must buy for any D&B fan.

Review:
A super fresh four-tracker on Marcus Intalex's acclaimed Soul:R imprint from Dub Phizix, who goes in with the stripped back, hissing breaks and eerie intro in title track "The Editor" featuring Strategy before it drops into a dutty b-line roller. "Narrow Eyes" sees Fox and Chimpo jump on board for a menacing, melancholy number with spoken lyrics and hollow, clip-clop drums, before "Shakedown" takes over with its delicate SFX and booming bassline and super sharp snares. Concluding track "Bateman" is full of suspense, trembling atmospherics and maintained tension, and then aggressive stabbing beats and snapping breaks. Absolutely dangerous!

Review:
London based Drum and Bass type Lynx comes up trumps with the latest release on Marcus Intalex's much revered Soul:R label. A must check EP from the off, the title track "Balloons" sets the tone, building from an intro only populated by buzzing SFX and ticking beats, going up and up like a helium filled balloon, almost effervescing into the drop where it develops into a sublime little outing with typical Lynx like moving bassline and sparse, ticking beats, experimental and edgy. This one's for the forward-thinking types. Given the epic nature of "Balloons" it's little surprise Lynx elects something a bit different on "Passing Time", a quirky cut whose sombre intro develops into something quite dramatic, pairing off cooing vox with pattering breaks.

Review:
Having waited some 21 years to produce his debut solo full-length, we perhaps shouldn't be surprised that D&B veteran Marcus Intallex has pushed the boat out a little. Yet even his most ferocious fans may be more than a little surprised by the breathtaking scope of 21. There are collaborations by the bootload most notably with Lynx & Danny Fierce, SPY and Zed Bias excursions into two-step jungle, future house and dubstep-acid, and even a suitably atmospheric cover of Radiohead's "Climbing Up The Walls". Plus, of course, a brilliant selection of alien D&B jams in his own inimitable style. It may have taken two decades to materialize, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Review:
Soul:r boss Marcus Intalex steps up with a sampler from his forthcoming album 21, and these two exclusive non-album tracks provide a delectable taster of what is to come. Teaming up with Carlos S.P.Y on "Triband", the pair take things on a cool, understated, but driving neurofunk tip, replete with ticking breaks, raw bassline pressure and rolling subs to get the blood pumping. Up next, "Steady" is a much more Soul:r flavoured slice of musical medicine, with cooing atmospherics, dreamy pads and a scintillating sense of expectancy.

Review:
Next on the ever-reliable and consistently excellent Soul:R comes a couple of superb cuts from Phil Tangent who has been impressing us of late with his deep, minimal sounds. "Restitution" opens the single with sweeping atmospherics, gentle instrumentals, echoing vocal snatches and bleepy beats. It falls into the drop smoothly and switftly with a deep, throbbing b-line providing a heart beat like loveliness for the rest of the track. Accompanying this is "Squaring The Circle" - another beauty, but this time a more stripped back one with thudding drums, blissed out atmospherics and a sparse, haunted feeling which progresses as a vocal element comes into focus with humming subs below. Excellent from start to finish.
