Review:
Originally released in June '09 on Spearhead owner BCee's very own Generations EP, title track "Generations" gets a remix from highly talented London duo Craggz & Parallel Forces (of "Turn The Page" fame). Putting their own spin on the original, you can expect spooked out, shimmering atmospherics, crisp, tripping drums and a dark, velvety bassline snaking below it like a watcher in the night. Eerie whispers circulate in a poised and well-balanced soundscape, before a mid-way breakdown and vocal-led development push things along in a more bass-heavy section. Absolutely brilliant and a must for Spearhead fans and beyond.

Bcee, as you may already know, makes lush drum & bass soundscapes intricately woven with soul and dancefloor-savvy breaks. He also runs Spearhead Records as a matter of fact, a label that boasts releases by exciting new artists with solid followings of their own including LSB, Hybrid Minds, Technimatic and Mutated Forms. Bringing his own formula of hard-stepping rhythms, soaring vocals and soulful melodies to the fore this time round, Bcee's passion for creativity breathes life into the genre and these two tracks are perfect examples of how much drum & bass still has to offer to the world of dance music.

Chris SU has been on fire of late with a slew of strong releases. Here he teams up with partner in crime Falcon for a cracking single on the ever-reliable BCee's Spearhead imprint. The title track "Enter When Ready" is all snapping snares and pummeling bass with bubbling subs and gritty layers of sound adding further menace to this gnarly little tune. "Studio 54" acts as the perfect accompaniment, adding a more experimental edge to the proceedings with quirky synths and warping sounds accentuating the eeriness. A top notch single here.

Review:
A true veteran of UK's hardcore and D&B worlds, and a man who's been around since the first rave of rave, Jonny L goes for a 60s psychedelic vibe on this new single on Spearhead. "The Rave" is full of hazy, reedy vocals and spooky, choral backing voices - all the while anchored to a furious jungle beat. "Boy" is much more of a DJ favourite though, with plentiful helpings of thumping bass on the kicks and menacing glitch-textures smothered over the top.

Review:
BCee's ever-respectable Spearhead label can always be relied upon to deliver the goods where stylish, liquid D&B is flavour of the month. This release continues to raise the bar, with a lush, lilting cut from LSB heading up the EP complete with swooning vocals, pattering breaks and melancholy murmurs. Accompanying this are two delectable remixes from up-and-coming talents Technicolour & Komatic, who strip things back in the re-lick of "All My Love" and add in a sultry smoothness, retaining the dancefloor groove. Also worth checking is the beautiful sounds of "Far Away From Here (feat. Sian Sanderson & Stamina MC)" with its lullaby-like melodies. "This City" brings things to a stunning close.

Review:
LSB presents a couple of classy cuts here on BCee's Spearhead imprint. Getting things started with a flurry of terse breaks, drifting SFX and curious little moments is "The Hurting". This one swiftly progresses into a cool and calm track dominated by a warm, humming b-line, impassioned vocal and crunchy drumbeats. It's deeply compelling and hypnotic, and well worth checking out. Accompanying this is "Don't Say It" which is another dreamy little number with soulful, breathy vocal element, ticking breaks and warm, murmuring bass beneath.

Review:
Luke LSB has to be one of the hardest-working men in drum & bass. Releasing a constant stream of emotive D&B with the depth and clarity often lacking in this facet of the genre, his output on Spearhead, Demand and Integral is always pristine. Forgoing the usual liquid D&B sound, Enei's remix of the beautiful "Overthinking" juxtaposes Sian Anderson's lilting, delicate vocals with a rapidfire rhythm section and dangerous bassline that rips through the tune's heart. Ending on a high, the 12" mix of "This City" is a big, bouncing destructor, stepping and snarling through crazed percussion and oddly unsettling sound effects. Never underestimate the LSB.

Review:
N3gus, the Bristol based D&Bster who you may recognise from some Hospital Records compilations last year, makes a return on BCee's Spearhead imprint. Bringing a good dose of fun and frolics back into the music, N3gus pairs shimmying flute and strings melodies with thudding jump up drums underpinned by an ominous vocal sample. "Kites", however, is the show stealer here with an infectious bleepy hook, punchy drums and TC style bassline. With a twinkling melody in the breakdown, it's a bonafide dancefloor destroyer with intense musicality - an absolute must, make no mistake.

Review:
S.I.N steps up with a dancefloor driven cut marking the second release on the digital arm of BCee's Spearhead imprint. First up, "Gambler" paints the picture with a spaced out intro full of quirky SFX and building swathes of bass, falling into the drop with pelting drums, darting synths and sci-fi sounds a plenty. "Black City", on the other hand, is one for the darker soldiers. An atmospheric intro with buzzing bleeps and clips and underpinning harmonious synth sweep leads into an increasingly haunting main tune with taut, metallic synths, light hi-hats and pummelling, tech-y anger. Unique and unusual.
