Review: Detroit fans will spot this straight away - a cover of Octave One's classic "Blackwater" from 2002 - smoothed out and beefed up for 2010 by Carl Kennedy and Tommy Trash. With singer Rosie Henshaw supplying some innocent and nicely understated vocals, the duo do a nice job of reimagining the song in a funky/tech style - supplying plenty of nicely constructed builds and making good use of some octave-straddling synths. It's classy work all round, and both the original and the club versions will impress fans and strangers of Octave One alike.

Review: With the original proving to be a true Balearic banger, turning up in a huge amount of DJ mixes already this year (such as Erick Morillo's "Voodoo Nights" session), Subliminal keep the buzz going with a trio of shiny new mixes. Belgian duo Timofey and Bartosz Brenes go first up with their massive reworking, clearly made with peak-hour grandeur on their mind. Australian duo Nyx Syrinx & Nello also don't waste an opportunity to milk a great tune, though they keep the choruses almost solely acapella before looping the last line and building a huge climax around it. The final mix comes from Angger Dimas, who in his short career thus far has worked with Vandalism, remixed Freemasons and Ian Carey. The Sebastien Lintz edit of Dimas's mix is the one included here and it's another blinder - keeping a heavy dose of white noise oscillating and shifting during some roof-raising builds and climaxes.
