Review:
Teo 'Boogymann' Moritz has been fiddling around the fringes of the French disco/house scene for the best part of 15 years. In that time, he's released a single album and a handful of 12"s - not enough to register an international profile, but significant enough to make a well-known underground producer in France. My Disco Freaks Vol 6 is typical of his sound, and very French. These are long, atmospheric, heavily filtered disco re-edits - purist enough to appeal to the disco diggers, and floor-friendly enough to slip into house sets. Choose between the midtempo disco-funk of "Party Now" and the slick build of "Oh Baby".

Review:
French imprint Superhuit once again call on South African based producer Infrared for The New Break, an EP of funk infused breakbeat delight. The title track is an edit of a mystery funk track, beefing up the drums, adding some deft scratches and looping the horns to great effect. "Lonelyness" wraps some slap bass and neat string arrangements around a tough break with sultry female yelping for good effect. The flute loop and bass hook that signal the start of "Midnight" belie the drop into a shuddering break with "Planet E" upping the tempo, dropping some classic sampledelica over wah wah guitar hooks and plenty of scratched up grunts and ah yeahs.
