Review: The first track on this lush and lovely release is a sparklingly fresh late summer roller featuring delicious vocals from new voice Solis. Tinted with just a hint of melancholy and packed with heartfelt emotion, drop this and there won't be a dry eye in the house. On the other side, "The Little Things" continues the sense of expansive, cinematic soundscapes, only this time with the welcome addition of a little funk. Running scattered Amen breaks over a lazily walking bassline and clipping some soulful guitar licks artfully into place was a touch of inspiration well worth sticking around for.

Review: Symmetry recordings has the sort of pedigree that makes people sit up and take notice. Powered by the unrelenting fountain of talent that is Break, when artists like Boston come up out of nowhere and take pride of place on the roster, you'd better start taking notes. Taking the plunge to become inspirational as well as beautiful, tunes like "Catch Your Breath" really capture this Welsh producer's emphatic need to create truly spectacular sounds that still feel rounded, polished and full of groove.

Review: First debuting on Symmetry in late 2014, Cardiff-based producer Jack Boston has become the latest talent to benefit from the guidance offered by label boss Break. Now very much part of the Symmetry family, the Panoramic EP is Boston's third release for the label and his most comprehensive showing yet of his musical and flavourful rollers at four tracks long. Lead track "Life Is" sees Boston working with Undersound and Vanity Jay with stylish and memorable results, blending South American acoustic guitar and rhythms, soulful hypnotic vocals and that trademark high quality production sheen. The other three tracks are Boston in solo mode and are filled with his obvious class for instrumentation and atmospheric delivery.

Review: There's nothing better than hearing producers on top form and this release is one of those absolute joys. Judging by the cheeky solo digit in the title, we can presume that there's more to come, and that's good news for everyone. Featuring Break himself working with the infallible Calibre and DLR, and with a bonus track smack bang in the centre from NC17 and KC, there's every chance you already know and love these tracks if you're a big Break fan. Even if you're just a casual admirer, the originals won't have passed you by, which makes Calibre and DLR's remixes all the more special. Believe us - you need this, even if just for "Wondering Why", a masterclass in Break-style chop-n-step funkiness.

Review: Your eyes aren't deceiving you - we have here the first sampler from Break's forthcoming Simpler Times LP and you can get it right now. Seriously. You could have the swingy, sultry vocals and unmistakably Break-esque wubblin' bass of "Simpler Times" in time for the weekend. Can't say fairer than that. Also included is the sharp and tasty "Top Shooter" which is a masterpiece in filthy riddims and is already getting loud and direct airings on dancefloors across this fair nation. Get involved before the world knows.

Review: Break's third album Simpler Times is rapidly en route. And here's another sampler to stop us all from getting on a train to Bristol and camping outside his house until the full deal is released. "Free Your Mind" opens with a lush reggae feel, very much like his "Love So True" anthem a few years back. Complete with the unfailing dulcets of Fats, it's totally spotless and highly soulful. Looking for some new dirty? Look no further; "Brand New" is another textbook slab from Break's darker pantry; a waspy bassline, interesting rhythm sounds and a groove so thick and deep you could stash an elephant in it... No one does D&B quite like Break.

Review: Ah Break... Easily one of the most universally respected men in drum & bass. Never playing to trend, not even partaking in the mixdown war, always with the most unique drum sounds, he does his own thing and we love him for it. We love his label too. More often than not a vehicle for his own output, here he celebrates Symmetry in fitting style - with his own tracks and collaborations. It's an all star cast with Total Science bullying up a disgusting stepper ("Betamax") and Spectrasoul co-handling a gully halftime jammer. Elsewhere highlights hit from every corner but only a joker wouldn't investigate his update on the Fats-fronted classic "Free Your Mind", the grizzling "Who Got Da Funk" or the infectious shaker-flaring dub cut "Left Behind". Here's to another 10 years.

Review: Break: the man, the myth, the monstrously prolific producer finally delivers his third album... And it's every bit as juicy, soulful, savage and unique as you'd expect it to be. Joined by the likes of longstanding vocalist Kyo, old friends DLR and Xtrah and the some of the finest dulcets any MC has ever sung (Fats, naturally), Break's collection treads the fine line between home listening heaven and back-to-back DJ-ready bangers. Highlights? How does 'every track' sound to you. Specifically, though, "Free Your Mind" (with the aforementioned Fats) is up there with "Love So True", "Confidential" stabs and zaps like an updated version of early Bad Company while "Late Exclusives" has amens so finely diced and EQ'd you could power a jet with them. But then what else would you expect from the Symmetry captain?

Review: As D&B artists go, there are none more consistently brilliant as the quiet, retiring Break. As loud and forever enticing as his music might be, he remains one of the scene's most secretive stars - perhaps that's part of his appeal; bringing his trademark growling, snarling bass and sharp, methodical beats "Steam Train" is a true Break masterpiece. On the flip St Petersburg-based Hungarian vocalist Tiiu shares the spotlight with Detail on "Days Go By" and it's a deep, slow-burning shiver of cold, clean production and glacial vocals. Beautiful and devastating in equal measure, it's this release's secret ace in the hole and well worth your extra pennies. Symmetry killing it once again.

Review: Could Break possibly smash it more than he is right now? He hasn't upped his game (that would be impossible) but he's definitely upped his proliferation and every track and every remix have been essential. The left-sided "Duck For Cover" is a fine example; madcap percussion elements find their right place amid the space while a current-like bass ripples and fluctuates. Rolling with a trademark Break swing, it's as subtle as it is heavy. Fields follows suit with an equally unique composition. An ever-morphing and mutating stepper laced with attention-grabbing drum elements, you're never quite sure how it's going to develop until it's already slapped you in the eyes. Truly, this is a certified report on how creative drum & bass can be in the right hands.

Review: Thanks to a close proximity to Bristol and a common interest in creating incredible drum & bass, Break, Fields, Hydro, Mako and Villem have managed to band together to create one of this year's ultimate mega-collabs. In the interests of full disclosure, Break's track is actually a solo effort, however you can't knock him for that - when has he ever been wrong? Disarmingly smooth and soulful, his contribution quickly switches up and crash lands into a balls-out dancefloor roller. The Utopia crew aka. Fields, Hydro, Mako and Villem on the other hand have created an ever-switching bass-driven melodic monster. Many hands make heavy work.

Review: Gradually rising up the ranks, Bristol duo Ill Truth hit us with a double hook this month as they appear on both Technique's summer album and slap us down with a full four-tracker on Break's consistently sweet Symmetry. "In Your Soul" melts hearts at 50 paces thanks to the delicate vocal realness of Charli Brix, "Discover" is a squirming slice of minimal tech, "Tear Up" spaces us out with gloom-funk halftime dubspace and "After Hours" plays out the scenes of your last 6am dungeon shock-out. The truth hurts sometimes, right?

Review: 10 years of Symmetry - 10 years of Break being an absolute boss. Respected by all sides of the game, his on-point balance of a funk and true grit has united us for over a decade and he's about to drop a brand new full-lengther of his own productions and remixes to celebrate. The two cuts showcase his range and skillish charm perfectly: "Give In To Me" features long-term collaborator Kyo who gives her most powerful soulful vocal over classic Break organs and a heavily swung beat. "Who Got Da Funk" is much sharper and grizzlier with its wasp nest bassline and punctuated two-step. Both prime us for the imminent album.

Review: A must buy, straight up, "The Other Side" is a collection of tracks from such renowned underground producers as Break, Eastcolours, Ulterior Motive & Code 3, Octane & DLR and Prolix. A marvelous meeting of minds here, which kicks off with Break's "Love So True" - a twisted piece of thuggery with messed up, warping rhythms and shuffling percussion and continues with Eastcolours' "Watch Out" with its rugged b-line and exuberant synth work. Then there's Ulterior Motive & Code 3's collab "Yeti" which is all low-slung moodiness; this is followed up by the Xtrah remix of "Something New" and then the dark duttiness of Octane, DLR & Break's "Power Down" before the mighty Prolix draws things to a close with "Third Act".

Yes, the man is a powerhouse and manages to share a seemingly endless supply of his own brand of break-laden tunes year after year, but that don't mean he burns out, it means he fires up. Featuring surprising tunes like the foray into minimal desolation from Mako, a collab between Break, NFM and HLZ in "Atlas Shrugged". While moreover, Detail and Against showtheir teeth in the distinctly ferocious "Probel Man". These sounds were built to last. Get to know now and lead the way.

Review: This EP has been a long time coming for serious fans of Xtrah's work and let's put it this way, nobody is going to be disappointed. Packed to the rafters with punchy, dirty beats and sinister sung vocals by the ever-brilliant Codebreaker MC, there's nothing in the whole release to pick fault with. The fact that it's on Break's own Symmetry label only makes things better - it's clearly the EP's spiritual home: just listen to that kick drum on the title track. DRS storms the studio for "Always New", adding bite and venom to a choppy, cracked-up beat and the final tune happens to be a (predicatably) staggering remix of Cyrax by Break himself. Do not sleep on this - you've been warned.
