Gird your loins as this one goes in hard and heavy from the off; a cacophony of bellowing mid range, bleepy 8-bit melodies and punishing bass, this one is an ADHD riddled venture into jump up D&B at its best. "Happy Days" evokes a Hospital sound with uplifting synths, pattering drums and euphoric builds which bubble along for the duration. Expect to hear more from 2DB in future - this one's a killer!

Review: With Simon Bassline Smith as a label boss it should come as no surprise that 2DB is a producer who's all about the turbo-charged builds, catchy melodies and pumping, dancefloor factor. "Break These Walls" kicks off this four-track EP with a flurry of thunderous drums, whirring synths, Auto-tuned vocal and polished appeal. "Selecta" continues the story with pedal to the metal energy, this is tear-out D&B doing its thing. "Surrender" builds from an epic, trance-infused intro into a low-slung banger, before "Love The Music" brings things to a tumultuous close. Top notch dancefloor business here from 2DB.

Review: 2db steps up to the plate once again for the Technique camp to deliver a couple of dancefloor bangers for Worldwide Audio. "Swerve" is absolutely massive, with a huge female vocal hook twinned with call and response chord stabs which will bloody the nose of any tune which dares challenge. "1995" kicks off with smooth pads and chiming chords before descending into a jump up roller with more than a hint of Full Cycle about it. This is one for the steppers crew.

Review: Radio 1Xtra DJ Crissy Criss shows off his skills in the studio here in the "Now More Than Ever" EP on Simon Bassline Smith's label Technique. The title track pairs a familiar sample (see Pendulum circa '05) with gritty, gnarly bass, jittery synths and pumping drums. "Need Me" is a Circus meets Dub Police style dubstep venture with chirping screeches, grinding b-line and plenty of fun factor. "Gangsta" strips it back a bit and focuses more on clipped percussion and grouchy, squelching bass, whilst concluding cut "Everybody" rounds things off with another dose of brostep.

Review: Always on top of their game, Drumsound (aka producers Andrew Wright and Ben Wigget) team up with long-time collaborator Simon "Bassline" Smith for this epic release on Technique that will no doubt keep them at the top of the D&B tree. Having dropped classics in the past such as "Cold Turkey", "Odyssey" and "Everybody Pump", they still enjoy tons of support from DJ's like Annie Mac and Zane Lowe and "Clap Your Hands" is likely to extend their fanbase even more.

A jump-up mix of beats, churchy piano licks and some fresh gospel vocal samples that break out in the chorus to preach: "Somebody shout Hallelujah, somebody shout amen", it's a barrel load of fun.but if D&B's not exactly your thing there are some excellent versions in different styles to get you on board. The House mix for example is perfectly transplanted to a 130bpm tempo and works really well as a quality electro banger. Similarly, the dubstep mix takes it down to a cool half-step and adds a lot of glitchy bass for good measure. The Phetsta mix is the one that the dj's will want to pounce on first though, as it brilliantly switches between D&B and electro mid-song, making it a valuable tool for effortlessly changing between genres during sets. Yet again Drumsound and Bassline come up withe the goods - there's absolutely no way you won't be feeling this tune after just one listen.

Review: South East London duo Tantrum Desire get rude and rowdy with their Foreplay EP on Drumsound & Bassline's Technique Recordings. It's no holds barred for the duration as "Play Tonight" gets things started with high-octane energy, a bawdy b-line, cooing vox and power synths. Next is "Tough Love" featuring super smooth R&B style vocal contribution from Jon Reline, which pounds along with grouchy SFX, pumping drum rolls and screeching synths. "Pay Your Own Way" has been doing damage for some time now with shimmying, bleepy SFX, catchy synth riffs and killer vocal hook. Slowing the tempo down to 140 bpm for the final track, "Designed" is all vocal-led slo-mo sleaze with swaggering beats. Huge.

Review: Ever the go-to jump up producer of choice for Bassline Smith's Technique Recordings, Tantrum Desire steps up with another high-octane, dancefloor-driven slab of filth. "Get With It" is all accelerating builds, peeping synth squeals, grinding mid range and tear-out D&B at it's most energetic. "Reach VIP" adds a trance-like synthline and suitably euphoric, auto-tuned vocal and pairs it with Skrillex style edits and punishing drums. The dubstep tease is very of the moment, with smashing, swaggering drum work, drawn out synth manipulations and plenty of Doctor P-esque moments. Full of sing-a-long moments and daytime radio potential, "What Is Your Desire" is all polished vocal, courtesy of I Kay, pounding mid range, punchy drums and souped up synth work. Watch out for the Dance Floor Pressure remix which gets tough and gnarly, plus the Kinzy remix which gives it the Doctor P style dubstep treatment. Review: Drumsound & Bassline Smith reinvent themselves as 2DB for opening track "Oxygen" and fans of the mighty trio will not be disappointing. Appearing on their own label they bolster up an EP filled with retro influences and heavy bass drops. Hashtag's "Don't You Want Me?" drops its 90s rave persona into place alongside paranoid retro synths and acid bass while Slovakian D&B obsessive L Plus' old-school gaming credentials come into play with some serious chiptune insanity. MaxNRG hangs on a junglist/dubstep hybrid flex as he maxes out his compression bonuses and smashes that "drop" button until his controller explodes. Rounding off the EP with two more blistering tracks from L Plus and 2DB, if you like your dance music hard, fast and SNES-inspired, you're onto a winner.
