Review:
A1 Bassline has survived the fidget-electro days nicely if "Falsehood" is anything to go by. A jacking, funky-tech winner that uses some unruly 808 patterns and Detroit-ish pads a la Bashmore, Pearson Sound and Girl Unit, this is a surprising sonic development from Croydon's A1B, but a very pleasing one too. "Lumps (Technological)" is even better - with a huge, Zinc-like bassline bubbling under a classic house kit and a rising filter vocal that's completely addictive. More please Mr. Bassline.

Review:
The dons behind back-in-the-day garage/2-step classics like "Desiny" and "Desire" are back, returning on the Tighten Up label with the scorching slink of "She Go Down". With more of a techy texture than their 90s bangers, "She Go Down" is still majestically arranged - mixing up the soup of short sounds and one-shot samples into a lean and very addictive groove. "Long Shak Dodge" carries on their tight, kaleidoscopic sound, blending house and funky together nicely via some Todd Edwards-style phased samples and vocal snippets.
