Review: After a couple of lean years without a release, Audiojack returned to action earlier this year with a solid 12" on regular home 20:20 Vision. Here, the Leeds-based duo continues that rich vein of form with a similarly sturdy EP on Tsuba. "Traction" itself is a no-nonsense sort of concoction - a woozy, bass-heavy chunk of stripped-back tech-house blessed with Bobby Peru style electronics and carefully placed drum machine handclaps. It's accompanied by a Lauer remix that impressively transforms it into a decidedly Balearic chunk of touchy-feely, wide-eyed deep house. Bonus cut "Hook" sits somewhere between the two, layering filtered classic house riffs over handclap-heavy deep percussion and an undulating bassline.

Review: A killer remix EP from Tsuba here, as three of the label's biggest names get retreated by some of the deep house scene's biggest hitters on this EP showcasing the deeper side of the imprint. First up, Aural Distortion's "Overlap" gets remixed by AN 2, turning in a cosmic mix of upwardly tumbling bass and warm chords, while Jay Shepheard reworks Kevin Griffiths' "Revolver" into a slowly intensifying piece of melodic electronica which twists itself into various contortions over its six minutes. The best however is undoubtedly the mighty Mark E's dub of Mic Newman's "Knickerbocker", a low-slung, sleazy jam full of out of focus vocals and thick warm bass slabs.

Review: It's a busy week for British nu-Balearica DJ Craig Bratley, what with releasing one of his most popular edits (The Go Go) as well as turning in a new long player, Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride" We get 10 tracks here on what is an immaculately produced laid-back ride that channels some cool 70s/80s prog disco vibes. The inclusion of some hip-hop MCs will probably jar with purists of this style but on moments like the proto body music grinder "Birdshell", the sugary Italo-disco of "Hyper Velocity" and the electroclash sleaze of "Obsession", the quality shines through.

Review: Ever alert for the call to action, Tsuba boss Kevin Griffiths has decided to embark on a bit of a retro-futurist mission with a little help from Burnski, Moodtrap and JMX. Each of the three producers delivers a fresh new cut, each of which takes great inspiration from great house music of the past. Burnski's "Got You" wraps some late '90s NYC riffs and eyes-wide-shut melodies around a sturdy, woodblock-heavy groove, while Moodtrap's "Grey Area" peppers a hypnotic bumper with heady vocal samples and fluid synths. JMX's "The Bronx", meanwhile, sounds like something Rollo would have made sometime around 1993, complete with classic vocal yelps and hissing jazz cymbals.

Review: South Australian duo the Carter Bros have their 2009 LP, originally released on local Adelaide label Cuckoo Music, pressed to vinyl thanks to Kevin Griffiths' Tsuba imprint. Laced with a Parisian motif the album dips and dives between cleverly sampled filter house, one-take analogue super sessions and Detroit love. A cavorting dancefloor essential.

Review: Here, Aussie deep house maestros Tim and Gavin Carter further enhance their rising reputation with a superb EP for Tsuba. "Loving You Is Easy" is snug and warm, with its razor-sharp disco strings (smothered in plenty of filters) and horns perfectly complimenting the dense, toasty groove and vocal samples. It sounds a little like Tom Trago's early material; it's perhaps fitting, then, that the Dutchman provides a stellar remix, making more of the original strings and horns. There are two superb bonus cuts, too, with the African drums and voodoo chants of "Come Back Underground" just edging out the woozy sweetness of "Wake Up & Cry".

Review: Having first appeared on vinyl back in 2012, Creative Swing Alliance's excellent Mother Water EP finally makes it to digital download. While Pablo Valentino and Steven Joyce Ames' profile has risen in the 24 months since - thanks, in no small part, to releases on Wolf Music and Endless Flight - this remains their strongest body of work. The title track is particularly pleasing, with fluid chords, warm textures and Detroit-influenced sci-fi melodies riding a lolloping deep house groove. "Higher Ground" flips the script, sounding like a woozy, disc-flecked tribute to the impeccably soulful deep house grooves of Detroit producer Andres. If that's not enough to get the juices flowing, there's also a pleasingly cheery and saucer-eyed take on "Mother Water" from Wolf Music man Medlar.

Review: In the past 18 months, Dutch duo Detroit Swindle has come from nowhere to become one of deep house's go-to names. This three-tracker for Tsuba - their first for Kevin Griffiths' label - is another 'must-check' release. Lead cut "Sometimes" is typical of their output to date; deep, stylish, quietly soulful and blessed with relentless riffs that propel the track forwards at a rate of knots. Arguably better is "That Freak Stuff", a slick chunk of deepness blessed with some rougher drums, an addictive bassline and some atmospheric, whispered vocal samples. Soulphiction remixes, turning the track on its head thanks to shuffling analogue drums, a fuzzy bassline and some glistening pianos.

Review: 10 Years of Kevin Griffiths respected house imprint already? You bet and they're celebrating in style with some staples of their artist roster in the form of Amsterdam's Detroit Swindle with their bleepy and bumpy tech house jam "Not Another Sometimes", UK underground stalwart now based in Berlin Matthew Styles is back too with the soulful, hi-tech melodicism of "Off The Grid" and Adelaide heroes Gavin and Tim Carter are on form as always with the dirty, jackin' and downright funky "Tempting Fate Disco" whose loopy disco goodness will set any dancefloor on fire.

Review: Tsuba's ten year anniversary - that's right, it has been that long already - has been marked with hit after hit from a wide selection of artists from across the house kingdom. In fact, for this 2nd instalment of the festivities, we have White Material frontman Galcher Lustwerk remixed by the inimitable Jimpster, with the latter putting a more starry-eyed mechanic onto the original; For Romeau complete the A-side with a vintage-sounding remix of "Pinball" by Williams. On the flip, Roy Comanchero drops the Chicago bass over a minimal sort of percussion groove on "Hypba". Kevin Griffiths adds a little acid to the jingly 707 beat of "Satori", and completes a stellar EP from the magnetic Tsuba.

Review: Having masterminded Tsuba's renaissance in recent years, it's nice to see that label boss Kevin Griffiths has found some space in the schedule for his own productions. This EP typifies his approach to house and techno. Lead cut "Twenty Mids" stands out, layering vocal samples, marimba melodies and head-nodding electronics over a bongo-laden tech-house groove. There's not much going on, but it's expertly arranged to guarantee maximum dancefloor thrills. "Acid Splash" is altogether deeper and more melodic than the title suggests, and is built around some particularly cosmic chords. The Breaking Bad-referencing "Los Pollos Hermanos", meanwhile, delivers a smooth take on '90s deep house - all child-like garage melodies and alien electronics.

Review: Having previously given Justin Drake and Sascha Dive the Tsuba Loves... anthology treatment, it was probably only a matter of time before label boss Kevin Griffiths compiled an instalment featuring his greatest production moments to date. Featuring a mix of both original productions and a handful of Griffiths' best remixes, Tsuba Loves... is an enjoyable jog through the veteran DJ and producer's distinct, tech-tinged deep house sound. Highlights are naturally plentiful, from the Circulation-style tech-house fluidity of Justin Drake hook-up "Midnight Special" and bongo-laden liquid house of "Lucky Three", to the downright spooky late night fare of "Jaguar Shoes".

Review: For a DJ and label owner who has served his time, it comes as no real surprise that Griffiths' latest release is so heavily steeped in classic house and techno influences. For example, "Revolver" shakes and jacks to the sound of Chicago house kettle drums and the tribal "Lucky Three" is underpinned by the kind of squelchy acid that Phuture 303 pioneered. The real surprise here however, is that Griffiths, in a fashion similar to Lone, has managed to articulate the woozy abandon and liquid melodies of 90s hardcore so faithfully. In particular, the glorious, sub-tropical hooks of "Thirsty Camel" sounds like a lost track from 808 State's debut album - and may prove to be as timeless.
