Review: Berlin-based house producer Edward, aka Gilles Aiken returns to the White imprint with the Expressions In Stone EP. It's a three tracker crammed with ideas, from the early morning weirdness of "Bush Of Crows" to "The Ghetto", which boasts a catchy preacher vocal sample and a cheeky Roland organ. "Grounded" - undoubtedly the EP's hidden gem - brings proceedings to a close in a moody fashion with a barely audile vocal and subtle bell sounds. It's a perfect slice of raw, stripped back house music.

Review: Berlin-based producer Oskar Offermann is a relative unknown, having released just a handful of tracks and remixes to date. Here he sets out his stall with a debut album full of atmospheric deep house goodness. There's a loose, languid late night vibe to proceedings, but the grooves are tough enough to suggest that most of the tracks will hold their own in a club environment. His sound touches on trad deep house and the pop-influenced fluidity of Seth Troxler and company. There are some interesting experiments, too, with the hustling, techno-influenced rhythms of "One Two Love" and fuzzy ambience of "You Said Party, I Said Maybe (Dub)" standing out.
