Review:
The Spanish breaks duo who have a penchant for wearing masks in photo shoots gear up for the release of their debut album with this two-track taster that'll definitely get fans panting for more. "Total Cucumber" makes good use of some feedback noises that are arranged into a powerful melody, along with a tough set of punchy drums. "Hypnotizin" however rides a classic combination of female vocals and slowly enveloping chorus-synths to work up to a huge climax. Roll on the album if these two are anything to go by.

Review:
Breaking away from his regular studio partner Kultur on this new iBreaks single, BSD's Colombo goes it alone in style on these two newies. "Summit" contains some tranced-out melodies as well as hugely bassy drops, while "CousCous" is riddled with Eastern samples - all chopped and arranged perfectly, with some clever filter work creating some sly builds. Banging stuff from one of the breaks scene's shining stars.

Review:
Having invigorated the breakbeat scene in his native Spain, Seville's Digital Base now sees his first full-length album drop on iBreaks, ready to take on the whole world. Oldies like "Turn Me Out" and "Get On Dance" get included along with a whole range of new jams and some essential remixes too. After a long build-up, opener "Decibellum" immediately provides a storming start - a real masterclass in how to juggle a variety of beats and breaks into an energetic and dazzling mix. "Right There" follows up shortly after and sets the real vibe for the album - hard and dirty breakbeat but balanced with plenty of melody - in this case via a round-the-houses cover version of Fatboy Slim's "Right Here, Right Now". Included with the album are a set of remixes of DB tunes new and old, and some DB remixes of others (such as his truly standout treatment of DJ Mutiny's "Dreams Come True"). Names like Dekoy, Rex, 4Cuba and Break The Box all turn in blinders, but it shouldn't distract from giving Digital Base his props on dropping such a well-crafted and unrelentingly banging debut.

Review:
Hair-raising breakbeat klaxon! Aussie duo Diistortiion and Llupa were clearly carpenters in a past life as they've hit a fair few nails on the head with this hammering double header. Driven by a cool, science-flavoured sample "Laser" is an electro-fuelled stomper with the most spine-tingling of drops and epic lead riff. Meanwhile "Kontrol" combines aspects of both tech and psy with its head-twisting hook, war crying pianos and a relentless, shin-kicking groove. Both ideal for festivals and the larger range of soundsystems, both of these should be considered before your next big gig.

Review:
Spanish trio Dirty & Acid drop two new energetic gems for the iBreaks label - mixing old-school breakbeat arrangements with a nu-skool sound. The title tune works wonders thanks to a filtered bass loop that threatens to explode at any point, which combined with fierce drums and razor-sharp acapella cuts makes for an airy and uplifting breaks winner. The accompanying "Funkology" is even more fruity and fun - crossing right over into nu-funk territory thanks to some flowing Latin brass licks.
