Review:
Former Wiseguy DJ Touche (aka Theo Keating) has reinvented himself a few times, most successfully of course as Fake Blood. Under this moniker he created a huge hype as to the real identity of this mysterious producer. Now he has achieved every DJ's dream - to release a Fabric mix album. On it we see his style shift once more; decidedly less noisy than his own earlier output, this a thrilling journey that begins with some tribal house vibes and ends with euphonic electro-pop, taking in baile funk, tech-house, vintage jack and bassy techno along the way.

Review:
Francois Kervorkian brings his many decades of experience to bear on his latest mix. Both CDs start in deep mode before he gradually turns up the tempo and intensity. Of the two mixes, the first is the most impressive; it begins in languid mode with deep house from Jazzanova, Anton Kubikov and Kervorkian himself, before moving into the acidic Factory Floor version of Daniel Avery. From there, he moves into deep, dreamy techno, but the New York DJ's love of heavy bass is never far away - the Maceo Plex take on Maetrik being a prime example - and his finale, featuring the broken beats of Blawan, 2562 and Objekt is impressive.

Review:
Hagelstein is best known for his melodic take on minimal house for labels like Souvenir and Upon You, but it's clear that he's also a skilful selector. The thirteenth Watergate takes the listener on that often alluded to journey; from the smoky strings of Prins Thomas' intro into bassy, drugged out house jams from Don Disco, Chris Wood and Strangers in Heaven. The selection then veers into tranced out tracks by Hagelstein himself and The Cheapers, before setting course for US deep house nirvana courtesy of Marshall Jefferson and Mike Dunn, only to emerge into the dubby chords and fey vocals of Losoul's "Open Door".
