In news that will make the techno intelligentsia weak at the knees, legendary Berlin label Tresor is set to reissue a slew of landmark releases from the likes of Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Drexciya and Joey Beltram.
Mills’ now iconic Waveform Transmission Vol 1 and 3 and Drexciya’s 1999 album Neptunes Lai both got their first ever digital releases today, while Joey Beltram’s Ball Park and Game Form EPs will be available on May 31. All of these will be available from Juno Records (CD and vinyl) and Juno Download. In fact, you can pop over to Juno Download right now and listen to the soundclips.
Tresor became the face of Berlin’s 1990s underground techno movement, with Dimitri Hegemann opening the club in the vault of an abandoned Wertheim department store in East Berlin. The club’s in house label became home to a slew of underground techno producers including Surgeon, Neil Landstrumm, Terrence Dixon, Blake Baxter and James Ruskin.
Meanwhile be sure to look out for a couple of tasty compilation reissues on the horizon, including Juan Atkins‘ 20 Years of Metroplex: 1985-2005, Daniel Bell’s Globus Mix Vol.4 and Scion’s Arrange And Process Basic Channel Tracks.
