DJ Harvey to tour Europe after exile

by on at 17:07pm

The legendary DJ Harvey will return to European shores this summer after an extended period of self imposed exile in the US, but as yet no UK dates have been announced.

The tour kicks off with a show in Italy on July 7, and takes in dates in Norway, Germany (including one at Panoramabar in Berlin), Portugal, France, and Switzerland, before concluding in Finland on August 14.

But Harvey’s legion of British fans need not be miffed at the lack of a UK date, with sources close to the DJ confirming he will play in the UK sometime after the summer.

“No London or UK dates have been scheduled on this tour, mainly because summer time sees everyone hopping all over the place with Ibiza, and festivals all over the rest of Europe,” the source said.

“We want to wait to do something really special for the UK in ‘serious’ clubbing season. We really want to do it right.”

Having recently become the proud owner of a US Green Card, the Sarcastic Disco man and possessor of perhaps the finest mane/beard combination in the disco world, is now able to travel to and from the country as he likes.

For the uninitiated, Harvey has released tracks on Mo Wax, Nuphonic, Whatever We Want and Ministry Of Sound, as well as his own unbeatably titled disco edit label Black Cock. He’s also remixed everyone from the Black Keys to Jamiroquai, The Police and House of House, and is a killer DJ to boot.

You can read our short but entertaining interview with the man himself from a few months back right here.
