Of all the mysterious techno that routinely shakes the Juno Plus office walls and permeates into the Burger King below, Swedish duo Skudge are right up there among our favourites.
A host of 12″s arrived bearing their name in 2010, which soon became a guarantee of stripped back, inherently groovy machine funk. In addition to their own stellar productions, the likes of Marcel Fengler, Aubrey and Aardvark came correct on the remix front.
They got 2011 off to a flier with a twisted, relentless remix of Anthony Shakir’s classic “Floorfiller”, stripping the original of its emotive keys and arming it with some serious warehouse heat.
Skudge will grace London with a live performance this Saturday night at Bermondsey based venue Cable, thanks to the folks at mulletover. Heading the bill will be Mobilee stalwart Sebo K, with Geddes keeping it deep and Crazy P and Futureboogie chopping up some disco onions.
We’ve got two tickets to give away to one lucky person – all you have to do to enter is answer this simple question: Which artist or band would you most like to see Skudge remix?
Submit your answer in the comments section below to go into the running for the prize. The competition closes at midday on Friday, January 28, at which point we’ll pick our favourite entry. The winner will be notified via email.
