Ahead of the Marcy Hotel mix up that is Wolf + Lamb’s joint DJ Kicks venture with their Boston buddies Soul Clap, K7! have announced details of a contest for budding directors to produce a video to accompany the melancholic bump of Soul Clap’s “Lonely C” with potentially lucrative results.
It’s rare that straight up cash prizes are involved in any creative endeavours for rising talents these days, but there’s a bounty of some $2,500 on offer to the winner along with the status of their work being the official video for the mix CD and further opportunities to film a forthcoming tour and work on future video projects with both Soul Clap and Wolf + Lamb.
The Competition has a deadline of February 28 and full details about how to enter can be found at the official release website. Given the abundance of chest hair, spandex and sweat bands that feature in the press photography for the forthcoming mix album we’d suggest some visual continuity of theme would go down well with all involved.
This keenly anticipated edition of the DJ Kicks series is set for release next month and, as previously advised, is dominated by the extended Wolf & Lamb family and also features a healthy smattering of unreleased material from both Soul Clap and Wolf + Lamb.
