Fresh from revealing himself to be a record label impresario, Gold Panda is swift to remind us all of his true talent as a musician with the out-of-the-blue release of Mountain, a two track single on the aforementioned Notown label.
Out digitally this week with the 7″ version due out next month, this is the first tangible Gold Panda material since the track “An Iceberg Hurled Northward Through Clouds” that featured on his DJ Kicks comtribution last year. The title track in particular is quite bewitching, unfolding in a manner vaguely akin to a bunch of druids celebrating harvest festival after over-indulging on mead until a cavernous kick drum slips into focus and the track stutters into delightfully glitchy territory.
