UK producer Airhead will follow up his recent debut for R&S Records with a second EP, entitled Love Pyramid/Black Ink, set for release in September.
The sometime James Blake collaborator has been a regular fixture on Ramp sub-label Brainmath since arriving onto the production circuit in 2010, releasing three records with the imprint (including the Blake hook-up Pembroke), before arriving on R&S in March this year with 10″ Wait/South Congress.
The latest cut explores slightly more rugged sonic terrain to Wait/South Congress, with A-Side “Pyramid Lake” a beat driven milieu of chopped and screwed samples with underlying waves of groaning sub bass pressure. “Black Ink” meanwhile sees twitching, insect-like percussive ticks bore their way through more deft samples and synths.
R&S Records will release Airhead’s Love Pyramid/Black Ink on September 10, 2012.
