Slackk, Local Action’s man of all things grime, has just posted a free track up on his Soundcloud page ahead of the label’s Room 3 showcase at Fabric this Friday.
Entitled “Ashes & Diamonds”, it sees the producer, who is also responsible for impressive releases on Numbers and Unknown To The Unknown, taking the rough, neon eski sounds of his recent Raw Missions EP and applying them to a hip-hop template, creating the kind of beat that in an ideal world would be at number one with Wiley on vocal duties.
Any Slackk fans at a loose end this weekend should head over to Fabric this Friday August 17, where he will be DJing as part of Local Action’s takeover of Room 3, joined by Scratcha DVA, DJ Q, Artifact, Throwing Snow, and label boss Tom Lea. Tickets for the night, which also features Plastician and Trim in Room 1, are £16, and available here.
