Listen: MPIA3 – Ely/Squatter’s Dog

Avian, the techno imprint run by Shifted and Ventress, has just announced details of its next release, helmed once again by the equally enigmatic MPIA3.

A stark contrast to the relatively textured techno of the label’s two overseers, MPIA3′s approach is raw and industrial. Consisting of two tracks, “Ely” and “Squatter’s Dog” both plough the same depths of militant acid techno as the producer’s first release (pictured above); “Ely” is the more straight up of the two, as a hammering 4/4 kick goes toe to toe with a raw, gated bassline, while “Squatter’s Dog”, described by one Juno Plus staff member as “well malfunctioned” is the more atonal of the two, practically bleeding sparks of bright green electricity.
