Stream Hippie Dance duo Pachanga Boys going to town on John Talabot’s “When The Past Was Present”.
“When The Past Was Present” is probably one of our favourite productions on the Spanish producer’s debut album, and this is clearly a sentiment shared by Rebolledo and Superpitcher, who took apart the track and rebuilt it over three colour coded remixes. Each of their Blue, Purple and Red versions use seperate parts from the original and are “designed for different phases of a night”. Over a familiarly thick Pachanga beat, the heavily phased and cowbell heavy “Purple” remix still retains enough of Talabot’s DNA to catch the ear of any casual observor, and brings to mind DJ Koze’s classic “Mrs Bojangles”. ƒin Remixes Vol. 1 drops next week, with the Pachanga Boys remixes hogging a twelve inch, leaving the Bullion and Kenton Slash Demon efforts housed on an accompanying 10″.
