Bandshell’s Caustic View EP for the Liberation Technologies label will see release early next month.
The producer debuted in impressive fashion with last year’s Dust March EP for the Hessle Audio label and Bandshell’s forthcoming release for Liberation Technologies places him in further illustrious company. In their brief history thus far, the Mute offshoot have been responsible for material from Laurel Halo’s King Felix moniker and the newy exhumed British Murder Boys project of Midlands techno doyens Regis and Surgeon. Bandshell’s addition to Liberation Technologies was first alluded to when details of Ben UFO’s Fabriclive tracklisting emerged, and was fully confirmed earlier this week when a Nic Hamilton directed video for the track “Landfill” arised from the internet ether (the 3D artist was coincidentally also responsible for the Actress video that surfaced yesterday).
On the basis of the corrosive lead track “Winton”, Bandshell’s decision to name this release Caustic View seems all too appropriate – if you can imagine Metasplice remixing Maurice Fulton’s Syclops project you are in the right frame of mind – though “Perc” shows the Northener to be equally capable of more contemplative moments too.
Liberation Technologies will release the Caustic View EP on February 11.
