Let’s face it, Erol Alkan needs no introduction: the DJ/label chief/producer/all round top guy has steadily built a devoted legion of fans the world over - from skinny jeaned teenagers to wizened music heads – since first launching the Trash night in London more than a decade ago. Trickski are, to use a well worn phrase, so hot right now. The Berlin-based duo (real names Yannick Labbé and Daniel Becker) have just dropped the Warm Up EP on Freerange offshoot Delusions of Grandeur, and it’s been rapturously received by members of the slow, sleazy-does-it deep house community. Renowned for DJ sets that touch on not just deep house but elements of disco and techno, we were intrigued as to what they had in their record bags this month. So we shot off a speculative email, and the results were fascinating, with the duo offering Juno Plus a detailed insight into their top tunes for April.

From dancehall to kuduro via broken beat and UK funky – the new featured chart from beat connoisseur Sinden is nothing if not eclectic. The DJ/producer recently announced the launch of his new label Grizzly, with a release from the man himself (in collaboration with the ever elusive SBTRKT) due out on April 19, swiftly followed by an EP from French star Brodinski on May 17.
Washington native Worthy is now an intergral part of the fabric of San Francisco’s dance scene, having co-created Dirtybird Records with house cohorts Christian Martin, Justin Martin and Claude VonStroke upon moving to the West Coast almost a decade ago.
