It’s not even Christmas yet, but the organisers of Field Day have just announced the first wave of act for their sixth festival, taking place in London’s Victoria Park on June 2, 2012.
Arriving at this year’s edition of Field Day soon after the gates opened, it was possible to watch Pearson Sound’s DJ set and bask in the festival’s humongous surrounds long before the rest of London descended. Whilst the notion of catching David Kennedy at 1 in the afternoon in the Bugged Out! tent seemed odd at first, it certainly didn’t put him off running through a typically upfront selection, with Auntie Flo’s forthcoming “Oh My Days” sandwiched in between his own Night Slugs bootleg and Four Tet’s dramatic “Locked”. The bleary eyed gathering quickly grew ten fold as his set progressed, rapidly adapting to the notion of an ice cold San Miguel at midday. His performance was of the high quality expected from the Hessle boss, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he turned up much higher on the bill again next year.
Field Day’s annual descent onto the green climes of East London’s Victoria Park is approaching steadily – naturally we wouldn’t want our readers to miss out and the organisers have kindly offered up a free pair of tickets.
The Field Day pre party taking place at East End venue XOYO this weekend, which features a headline DJ set from FXHE boss Omar S has now been announced as a free party all night to celebrate the launch of the new Field Day website!
Carl Craig will play his seminal 69 material live at this year’s Field Day festival in East London.
Carl Craig, Michael Mayer, Faust and Jamie xx are among the names today confirmed for this year’s Field Day festival, set to take place in East London’s Victoria Park on August 6.
The organisers behind Field Day have announced the first details of the line up for this years edition of the East London festival with Actress, Matthew Dear and Pearson Sound amongst a raft of impressive and diverse acts.
Gilles Peterson, the BBC’s aficionado of all things underground, has been added to this year’s Field Day lineup. Other new faces include Steve Mason, Matthew Herbert and Cate Le Bon.
Field Day is almost certainly London’s finest boutique music event, and we’ve teamed up with the organisers to give away a pair of tickets.
