While her previous releases have stood strong on their own, when listening to Sheela Rahman’s music it’s hard to avoid that connection she has to her regular partner-in-sines, Danny ‘Wolfers’ Legowelt. Beyond the simple fact that they are a couple, with their continued touring together and shared outings as Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui and Xamiga last year, it’s perhaps not surprising that Wolfers’ extensive back catalogue is the most logical point of reference when mentally placing Rahman’s music in your own internal musical shelves.
As previously reported, Legowelt and Xosar are due to return for L.I.E.S. duty under their recently established Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui moniker with the Pacific House EP – the title track now has an all too appropriate video.
The burgeoning production partnership between analogue hoarder Legowelt and mystical forest dweller XOSAR becomes that extra bit more tangible with the news Creme Organization have tapped them up for a twelve inch.
Having released her first record on L.I.E.S this month, we now see Xosar’s second EP, Ghosthaus, on Rush Hour Recordings. The record features two tracks, and includes two remixes from Mr Danny Wolfers under his Legowelt moniker. They’ve been playing gigs together in Europe and the U.S. recently, and their sounds complement each other well. The Ghosthaus EP remains true to its namesake, guiding you through an exploration of deathly sounds – fear lurking around every corner, the chance of escape unlikely.
Each new release from Brooklyn’s L.I.E.S. imprint is keenly awaited here at Juno Plus towers, and the new 12″ from Xosar, entitled Tropical Cruize, has been top of our most wanted list since it was announced some months ago.
