Review:
"Purple Shampoo" is the debut release from North East duo Pennington & Little, a brash bit of twisted tech house with some intricate resonating stereo production. Hats and bass stabs roll around the sonic field of the peaktime solid groove, as harmonious female vocals battle it out with snatches of male vox. Expert use of delay and effects make for one of this summer's most potent tracks. Mighty Rumble! drop a slew of remixes for the cross floor potential with Maker & Meyer opting for the sleek minimal approach, submerging looped elements of the original deep in the mix and crafting a off kilter bleepy groove. Jules Dickens impresses with acid flourishes that shout out of a tough beat whilst Tommi & Nic Liu indulge in some scattergun techno percussion and dubbed out male vocals. You'll find yourself returning to Pennnington and Little's killer original though.
