Review:
Big fat EP of cross continental deep house and broken beat with Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and, erm, Derby all representing. The Opening EP sees Japanese producer/DJ Kay Suzuki team up with a pair of West African Griots from Ghana and Senegal on "Music"- a shuffling bit of jazz house that's complemented perfectly by Babacarr Dieng's vocals. Production heavyweight Atjazz drops two remixes of his trademark deep afro house business with the Astro Dub a certain dancefloor killer. Suzuki veers away from the jazz towards dubstep on "Move On" which sees a nice bassline wobble and addictive synths being ridden with aplomb by London vocalist Duchy. Dutch producer CONE takes the song further into broken beat territory with two remixes that are a bastard blend of garage and drum & bass whilst the NYC based Ezel drops a real treat of a remix which keeps the synths but adds trademark Dominican drums for a neat afro house feel.
