Made to celebrate 21 years of fashion label Gio-Goi, Toolroom have given this new mix a nice scope by deliberately including both something old and something new. Starting with the old-school 808 snares of Kim English's "I Know A Place" is a great jumping off point, a textbook example of vocal house that's guaranteed to release a pack of endorphins into your system. Joi Cardwell's "Trouble" is another gem in the same vein, while Norty Boy's forgotten mix of Inner City's "Pennies From Heaven" gets pulled out of the archive and still sounds huge today. Hands down classics like DJ Sneak's "You Can't Hide From Your Bud" and the "Leeds Warehouse" mix of LFO's "LFO" nestle up nicely next to more recent tunes like Martijn Ten Velden and Mark Knight's mix of "Strings Of Life". There's so much quality contained here that it's almost impossible for house fans young and old not to fall in love with this selection.
