Review:
It's been a while since we last hear from carrot-top producer and "Pioneer Pro" DJ Rik Parkinson. That's because he's largely been concentrating on the DJing. The break seems to have done him good, because "Aint No" is arguably his strongest single to date. Offering hooks by the barrowload, sprightly Star Wars synths and bubbling bottom end, it comes on like a deeper version of electrohouse, but with none of the grating noises and in-your-face riffs. Support has apparently come from a wide cross section of DJs - from Eats Everything and Waifs & Strays to Dimitri From Paris and DJ T - suggesting it could have crossover potential. Don't sleep.
