Review:
A full-length debut from Athens' Stefan Torto, who uses his background as a sound designer to great effect on "Ambion". Conjuring up a cinematic wash of sounds over the album's ten tracks, he sometimes dwells on trancey synths and dubby beats, as on opener "Arp Emotion", while others such as "Silver Clouds" owe a debt to Ninja Tune and DJ Krush in particular. It's a heady mix of mostly downbeat styles, with the exception of the upfront breakbeat of "Normalize", and a fascinatingly moody listen from start to end.
