Review:
Fanon Flowers's alter ego gets put through its paces by some of the US producer's peers. Oscar Mulero continues his transformation from tough techno flag bearer to esoteric artist with his remake of "Mechanism", where rasping percussion supports dreamy chords. Henning Baer quickly shifts the narrative back towards tougher sounds, with his pounding beats and tight percussive take, and Subjected focus their ambitions on the big room, with an intense roller that sounds like 90s party techno armed with a steely menace. But it's Flowers himself who impresses most here; on his own reshape, he keeps the sounds deep and layered, while covering the arrangement with pools of liquid metal percussion.
