Review:
Varianz has put together an impressive range of remixes here: Dario Zenker sets a high standard with the tribal bass and plunging bassline of his version of "Asleep". Combined with the repetitive chords, it makes for a deep, dense techno track. Samuli Kemppi's version meanwhile is as trippy as anything the Finnish producer has released. Kemppi has an intuitive knack of making sparse, spacey techno, and here the woozy chords combined with skipping, lithe rhythms, make for an intoxicating sound. Jeff Rushin's take on "Wired" is a moody, acid-soaked groove, while Mike Wall and Ixel's version of the same track offers a dubbier interpretation of the screeching sirens used on Matthew Dear's "Fed On Youth".
