Review:
Three hell-raising Cornish DJs who clearly put their love of partying into their tunes, the Freerange DJs are back with a bang with Back To The Old Jack.
Their original mix has plenty of turbo fuel in it's tank, combining a crunchy acid-line and some powerful and punchy drums. A peak-time Breaks tune, it also has scratches and cuts by the barrel full, with all manner of old-skool samples dropped in to keep the crowds on their toes.
Fellow Cornwall-dweller Rektchordz turns in a strong remix, with plenty of Techy attitude and some brilliantly structured off-kilter rhythms that really make it stand out. Tokyo's Eshericks also turns in a blinder, working in a tempo-dip that'll make it an invaluable battle weapon for DJ's looking to switch tempos and styles in a classy way. Anyone familiar with duo Quadrat Beat will know they don't take any prisoners, and their mix takes the original and turns the rinse-factor all the way up to 10!
With Dom Almond's pounding mix rounding off the set, these will blatantly be lodged in people's sets for months - get involved as soon as possible.
