End-of-year compilations only work if the label releasing them has the goods to back it up. Needless to say Skint definitely do. In fact it's been an interesting year, as the Brighton-based imprint has explored a wonderfully wide range of styles. Best Of 2012 represents this in glorious detail that ranges from Burialesque future two-step (Seth's "Flying High") to pumping, tracky mainroom house (Timo Garcia & Phunk Investigation's "Atomic") via essential Chi-town chuggery (X-Press 2 & Tim Deluxe's "Shock Your Head"). A more fitting annual finale will be hard to find.
