Review:
A hugely enjoyable long-player from Essen's Protassov, who combines all manner of nu-jazz, downbeat, funk, exotica and abstract influences onto "Best Of". Melancholy jazz work-outs (such as the bass and harp-led "When We Dance") sit nicely up against slow reggae and dub ("Butterfly Dub" and "New March") while the influence of Tru Thoughts and Ninja Tune's collective output is never too far away on tracks like "I Wonder" and "Burn". A delicate, engrossing listen with much to gain from from repeated plays.
