Review:
The sudden attention paid to Jai Paul after a demo of "BTSTU" appeared online last year was truly phenomenal. Blogs around the world sat up and panted, and soon after the BBC and The Guardian to name but a few were on the case in a big way too. Drake's even reportedly sampled it for his upcoming album. It's taken until now for the full finished version to surface for download via XL, and it's certainly been worth the wait. Deliciously warped close-mic harmonies start it off until the enormous, coruscating bassline kicks in over the slo-mo beat. It's heart-warming modern soul at its best, and just as affecting as it sounded the first time around.
