Frenchman DJ Deep (why use an alias when you real name is Cyril Etienne des Rosaies?) goes crate digging on this new release for the always superb BBE. His journey through Chicago, Detroit and New York's secret house gems leads us to a couple of bonafied diamonds here, most notably "Utilize The Beat" by Gentle Ice, a pseudonym for none other than Chicago house God Adonis. An underground exploration of US music this may be, but Deep does hop on a Virgin Atlantic flight back to Europe on a couple of occasions, plucking Claro Intelecto's deep-as-you-like "Signals" and Marcel Dettmann's "Apron" as well as "The Box" from Berlin-based Redshape, just to keep us on our toes. And DJs take note, it's available as an unmixed package as well as a continuous mix, so you can take these house gems down to your local discothèque for a good rinsing.
