Review:
Matt Smallwood clearly understands the importance of selecting and arranging a few compatible elements. The title track starts off with tribal drums, expands to include a walking funk bassline and then breaks into the kind of wide-eyed neon trance riff last heard on MANDY's "Body Language". Its simplicity, as much as its soul, is compelling. The remixers are also no slouches when it comes to effective arranging. Mark Holmes's take is techier, its lithe, crisp rhythm underpinning a sensuous string solo, while Ovi M's version is more rudimentary, but just as effective. Drawing on the original track's tribal drums, it uses a more shuffling rhythm and midway through achieves the requisite hands in the air effect with an enormous filtered build.
