Review:
Long-time resident at London hip-hop night Scratch, Richy Pitch fed himself plenty of Ghanaian influences on trips abroad - so much so that his album "Ye Fre Mi Richy Pitch" was a staggering confluence of Afrobeat and hip-hop that seriously impressed when it dropped at the end of last year. "Dey Suffer" was a highlight from the album and on this single release, DJ Vadim gets hugely funky with a guitar-fuelled remix, while Kaytronix works up a charming nu-funk mix with a hint of Cumbia to the natural beats. Mr Pitch himself turns in a blindingly languid and soulful mix of his own, while the organic sounds of the original are here also, complete with an invaluable instrumental.
