A few years back, the world of electronic music was entranced by Buraka Som Sistema's field fresh take on the kuduro sound. Now, they're using their Enchufada label to unveil a new generation of future kuduro stars. Chief among these is Lisbon native DJ Marfox. Here, he delivers five almighty chunks of Angolan/Portugese electronic fusion. In truth, it's similar to the BSS sound, but there's an energetic roughness and booming simplicity to tracks like "E-Pemba" and "Voodoo Sound (Africa)" that should appeal to those seeking bassbin-bothering nirvana. The interplay between traditional African rhythms and drum machine sounds on "Urban ADN" is also very impressive.
