Easy to love? Hot damn, this EP lives up to its name! Philly's finest funkers Clayton & Fulcrum have truly spoiled us here. The title track is a rare breed in breakbeat; it's uptempo but rolls with real soul and depth. Comprising heavenly vocals, slippery percussion and a lolloping bassline, it's an ideal set starter for house and breaks DJs alike. For more obvious, prime-time business head for "The Get Down", sampling a well known Oliver Cheatham hook that scored Room 5 brownie points 10 years ago, it's a party gem that bumps and rattles but never gets too big for its boots. "Empire Sun" finalises this funkified business deal with true trumpet blasting class. Remarkably lovable.
