Review:
Fast-rising production boffins Logan Takahashi and Nicholas Weiss return to R&S - scene of their excellent "Motif" single - with a digital-only single preceding their hotly anticipated second album. "EFX" is a curious but heartwarming cut. Built around a woozy vocal and super-sweet, oh-so-melodic darting synths (very late '80s), it somehow gets by with only a whisper of percussion. The result is a track that dazzles with E'd-up intent, twinkling in the bright moonlight of an Ibizan evening. It's not Balearic, by any means, but it is utterly gorgeous.
