Review:
Another name rising to notoriety amidst the surge of interest in juke, DJ Diamond serves up his album Flight Muzik. Much like his contemporary DJ Spinn, he pitches a more palatable form of the music that dodges the dance tool nature of the sound in its purest form. The nagging looped samples remain, but in many cases they're placed in a more ambient atmosphere, crafted with the home listener in mind. There are times on tracks like "Torture Rack", when the sound design gets quite sophisticated, but mostly the tracks remain primal and wonderfully weird extrapolations of Chicago dance music.
