Review:
A haven for futuristic garage and bass fans, the Frijsfo Beats label drop their third collection with Cardopusher leading off with the joyously twitchy tropical beats of "Then What" - a crafty mix of popping, finger-snap percussion and filthy, swamped-up bass. Desto turns Kuoyah's "Convex Gravity" into a half-step acid jam a la Girl Unit, while Submerse's "Bubblin" is a brilliantly hazy mix of warped R&B vocals and lush 6am chords. Most frantic of all though is Geiom's stunning "Chip Voices", which almost recalls breakcore kings like Venetian Snares and Kid 606 for its sheer choppiness, were it not for the fact that it still has an inherent groove locked in underneath the madcap sampling.
