Review:
For those with a penchant for the blurred boundaries between house, nu-disco and contemporary electrofunk, the Future Disco series has always been a reliable source of high quality material. This fifth volume continues that trend, offering up a two-disc selection (one disc mixed, the other unmixed) that has squidgy synth basslines, slick pads and warm electronic melodies seeping out of every digitally encoded groove. While there are plenty of scene anthems present (Tiger and Woods remixing Tensnake, Classix reworking Cosmic Kids, Benoit & Sergio's ace "Principles"), there's plenty of lesser-known fare to excite the nerds - not least some thrilling contributions from fast rising house/disco fusionists Maxxi Soundsystem and Bonar Bradberry.
