Review:
An alias of Dutch producer Legowelt, this four track release under the name Nacho Patrol is a weird and wonderful revelation. A deliberate exploration of African modes from a house and techno perspective yields some truly original and futuristic results. While some tunes like "Twinotters" have a conventional nu-disco beat, they're still layered with an adventurous palette of different textures and sounds that rarely get fused together. "Africa Space Program" switches things around though, keeping the groove strictly Afrobeat but with some techno touches incorporated into the melody. A true one off that seriously deserves your attention, let's hope more material like this surfaces soon.
