Review:
Mister T hails from Athens, Greece, and this collection of shuffling funk, soul, reggae and downtempo compositions is his debut full-length. It's a hugely enjoyable collection, all told, thanks largely to the unfussy nature of his production and the general air of positivity that each track exudes. There are some sturdy, upbeat dancefloor moments - see the Latin-flecked "Cocktails" or boom-bap hip-hop funk of "Hip-Hop Soul"- as well as reverb-laden downtempo cuts and dubwise excursions (see the trip-hop warmth of "Back To Bristol"). There's nothing particularly revolutionary here, but it's all expertly executed. Crucially, there's also a comfortable warmth to Gentle Music that's impossible to dislike.
