Review:
Funk Ethics and Lucid Directions team up for their Give EP, which is split between two original mixes and two new remixes from Von D and Mr Bird. The original "Give" builds layers gradually upon one another. Clicking beats set the framework for the track, with chopped up vocals and swirling SFX creating a disorientating atmosphere, whilst "Together" is all lush, slo-mo rhythms, shuffling breaks and gentle, tinkling chimes. Von D's remix of "Give" is a more severe dubstep rendition with stern snares and terse kicks, and Mr Bird's is a psychedelic twist up with accentuated synths and futuristic atmospherics.
