Review:
FC Kahuna's "Hayling" is one of those downtempo records that seems to have stood the test of time. Even now, 10 years after its original release, it still sounds both achingly beautiful and strangely poignant. While it probably didn't need remixing, Traum regular Max Cooper has done a surprisingly good job of giving it a new spin. While retaining many of the original's most distinctive elements - the delicious vocal, yearning organs and so on - he breaks up the beats, adds some lovely glitches and pulses and re-casts it as an eyes-closed IDM builder. Whether in full vocal or instrumental form, it's a fine remix.
