TECHNASIA - Heart Of Flesh (Front Cover)
Review:
Charles Siegling goes back to his house roots for Heart Of Flesh. The title track is a repetitive, rolling groove, featuring subtle filter builds and a woman crying 'give them a heart of flesh'. "Octaval" is based on a similar premise; the percussion is more niggling and bleeps insinuate themselves into the mix, but the proliferation of bongo drums and a sassy Spanish vocal sample show that Siegling is fixated on tribal house. There is one exception however; "Michigan Ride", with its subtle acid line and jacking groove, has more in common with Chicago than the late 90s house sound of London or San Francisco - or indeed Luciano's Cadenza.
