Review:
When Kerri Chandler's "Heaven", a classic slice of vocal house in the New York veteran's inimitable style, first dropped last month, it was accompanied solely by mixes from the man himself. Here, it gets tweaked - many times, it should be said - by Phil Asher and Tony Loretto & Jacko. While the latter's four rubs (two different mixes in vocal and instrumental form) are quite nice (particularly the more electronic "Peak Time Mix"), it's Asher who steals the show with his Restless Soul interpretations. Of these, the Dub is perhaps the pick, with its wigglin' bottom end, US garage swing and bubbling synth riffs - though his full vocal version is refreshingly upbeat.
